Data Entry for Fiscal Year 2020 H-1B Cap-Subject Petitions Completed

On May 17, 2019, USCIS announced their completion of H-1B cap-subject petitions data entry for fiscal year 2020, including petitions selected via USCIS’ computer-generated random selection process as well as those selected under the U.S. advanced degree exemption.

H-1B cap-subject petitions that were not selected will be returned and USCIS will issue an announcement once all petitioners have been notified.  At the time, there is no specific time frame for return due to the large number of petition filings.  However, petitioners may inquire about case status upon receipt of an unselected petition or a receipt notice.  Please also note that USCIS may transfer some H-1B cap-subject petitions between the Vermont and California Service Centers - petitioners will receive notification if a case has been transferred.

The official USCIS announcement can be found at https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-completes-data-entry-fiscal-year-2020-h-1b-cap-subject-petitions.
