USCIS began premium processing service for all remaining Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2020 H-1B cap-subject petitions on June 10, 2019. Petitioners may now file a Request for Premium Processing Service (Form I-907) with the USCIS service center where their petitions are currently pending. Note that premium processing service remains available for cap-exempt H-1B petitions such as requests for Extension of Stay.
Also note that due to resource limitations, from June 10, 2019 through June 24, 2019, USCIS will not use pre-paid mailers provided by petitioners to send out final notices for premium processing for FY 2020 cap-subject petitions not requesting a Change of Status - regular mail will be used instead in order to process requests in a timely manner. USCIS provides that the process implemented to print and send approval notices by regular mail is fully automated and that using pre-paid mailers (i.e. return FedEx/UPS overnight mailers) is a separate, manual/by-hand process, which may instead delay the issuance of approval notices. USCIS plans on resuming the use of pre-paid mailers to send out notices when operationally possible.
